In mid-November, the Q Family took a trip to Run Away Bay, Jamaica. We spent time together relaxing, playing beach and pool volleyball, and even karaoke! Each year Quevera invites team members, and a plus one, to an all-expenses paid vacation. This is one of the many perks of working at Quevera.
Now that our annual Q Family Vacay is complete, it is the perfect time to reflect on why. Why does Quevera leadership invest in a yearly vacation for employees? The answer is simple- Quevera is a team, we are a family. Our success as a business and organization depends on our abilities to work with and communicate with one another.
Each and every day Quevera employees work together to learn from one another, identify tasks, and accomplish goals. This is not always a simple task, especially considering the often-complicated problems our customers bring to us. Oftentimes we are presented with a complex problem and it is our job to simplify the problem in order to develop a user-friendly and easily adaptable solution. This requires teamwork at a variety of levels to include:
- Team leads
- Project managers
- Team Members
Not only must employees be able to communicate amongst these levels, there is also a significant need for an interdisciplinary approach, meaning our programmers, information technologists, design team, and technical writers must all work together to create innovative solutions.
Since the Q Family, as we like to refer to ourselves, works together on a daily basis at work, administrators believe that it would also be nice to spend fun times together as well. Thus, the Q Vacay was born! According to Lee Simms, Quevera’s CEO, the Q Family works so hard throughout the year, the Q Vacay is also an opportunity for management to show thanks and appreciation.
