MAY 2024 YEAR OF GIVING: THE BALTIMORE STATION

At Quevera, we believe in the power of community and the profound impact of giving back. As part of our ongoing commitment to social responsibility, we are proud to announce The Baltimore Station as our featured organization for our 2024 Year of Giving for May.

About The Baltimore Station

The Baltimore Station is a beacon of hope for veterans facing significant challenges on their journey toward self-sufficiency. With an innovative therapeutic residential and outpatient treatment program, they provide essential support to those overcoming obstacles such as homelessness, mental health issues, and substance use disorders.

Addressing Critical Needs

The Baltimore Station operates a highly effective treatment program that prioritizes long-term, residential care for homeless men with complex backgrounds. Their approach focuses on recovery as the central goal, with residents able to remain in the program for up to 24 months. Through a combination of trauma-informed, strength-based, and client-centered programming, they empower individuals to reclaim their lives and achieve lasting sobriety..

Program Highlights

  • Residential Treatment Program: Providing comprehensive support and personalized treatment plans to help homeless veterans achieve sobriety and attain their financial and housing goals.

  • Service Intensive Transitional Housing (SITH): Offering a new program aimed at equipping unemployed homeless veterans with the skills and resources necessary for sustainable income and permanent housing.

  • Intensive Outpatient & Outpatient Programming: Delivering evidence-based addiction treatment services and workforce development training to support individuals on their path to recovery and independence.

Our Initiative

As part of Quevera’s Year of Giving, we are rallying our community to support The Baltimore Station by collecting essential items from their wishlist. These items include new twin sheet sets, winter coats, disposable household items, laundry detergent, and more. Additionally, gift cards to various retailers are greatly appreciated, providing flexibility for veterans to access essential goods and services.

Spread the Word

We invite you to join us in raising awareness about The Baltimore Station and the invaluable work they do. Share this message with your friends, family, and colleagues to mobilize support and make a real difference in the lives of veterans in our community.

Shop with Purpose

You can also support The Baltimore Station by shopping through our Amazon link, where you can find items they urgently need. From gift cards to household essentials, your purchases directly contribute to providing support to veterans in need, which will be delivered directly to our office. We are also collecting new or gently used coats, duffle bags and backpacks. These items can be dropped off in our office located at 6750 Alexander Bell Dr., Suite 125, Columbia MD.

Join Us in Making a Difference

Let’s unite as a community to support The Baltimore Station and provide invaluable resources to veterans in need. Together, we can make a lasting impact and continue spreading the spirit of generosity that defines Quevera’s Year of Giving.

Reflecting on Our Year of Giving Journey

In case you missed it, our Year of Giving has already seen remarkable milestones. In January, we rallied behind the Casey Cares Foundation, followed by organizing a Blood Drive in Support of Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center in February. March saw us extend our support to the Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter (BARCS), while April witnessed our commitment to the Kennedy Krieger Institute, where we purchased 2-step wagons for the school.

It’s been an incredible journey so far, filled with compassion and generosity. As we embark on another month of giving, we’re thrilled to continue our mission of making a positive impact in our community together. Join us as we extend our support to The Baltimore Station and continue spreading hope and kindness to those who need it most.
