2024 Year of Giving: Meade HS Feeder System
As part of Quevera’s ongoing Year of Giving campaign, we’re thrilled to announce our June initiative: supporting the Meade High School feeder system. This month, we’re focusing on alleviating unpaid cafeteria debt in the schools that serve our community around Fort George G. Meade.
Supporting Our Students for a Healthier Future
The Anne Arundel County Public School System (AACPS) comprises 128 schools organized into geographical clusters or feeders. The Meade feeder system includes 1 early childhood school, 9 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 1 high school, a K-8 contract school, and 1 middle-high charter school. These schools play a crucial role in shaping the educational journey of our children.
Unfortunately, several schools in this cluster are facing significant unpaid cafeteria debt. Specifically, Hebron-Harman, Meade Heights, Van Bokkelen, Brock Bridge, and Seven Oaks Elementary Schools each have lunch debts exceeding $3,000. Meade Middle School, MacArthur Middle School, and Meade High School are nearing $10,000 in unpaid balances.
The Importance of a Healthy Lunch
A nutritious lunch is vital for students, fueling their academic success and overall well-being. By ensuring that all students have access to a healthy meal, we support their ability to learn and thrive in a school environment. This June, we invite you to join us in making a difference by helping to pay off these overdue student lunch accounts.
How You Can Help
Your generous donation can help us reach our goal of eliminating the meal debt in the Meade feeder schools. Donations can be made through the Education Foundation of Anne Arundel County, a dedicated 501(c)(3) organization supporting the AACPS students and teachers. Simply use this link for the “Student Meal Debt” and enter “Quevera” in the “Do you have a comment?” section to track our collective impact.
