2024 Year of Giving: BARCS
At Quevera, we believe in giving back to our community in meaningful ways. This March, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve chosen to support the Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter (BARCS) as part of our Year of Giving initiative.
BARCS, a non-profit organization, operates Maryland’s largest animal shelter and adoption center. They are on a mission to provide refuge, care, and love to every abandoned, neglected, abused, or surrendered animal that comes their way. With over 30 animals being surrendered to BARCS every day, the need for support is immense.
But BARCS doesn’t just stop at sheltering animals. They go above and beyond by offering resources and low-cost services to both pets and people in our community. From free and low-cost medical vaccine clinics to off-site community days and a public food bank, BARCS is truly making a difference in the lives of thousands of families in Baltimore City.
So, why did Quevera choose BARCS? Because we believe in their holistic approach to animal welfare. By providing support to both animals and their owners, BARCS is tackling the root causes of animal surrender and homelessness. Every family pet they help means one less animal in need of shelter.
Here’s how you can join us in supporting BARCS:
1. Shop through our Amazon link: By shopping through our dedicated Amazon link here, you can purchase much-needed supplies for BARCS. All items will be sent directly to the Quevera office and delivered to BARCS at the end of the month.
2. Donate linens: BARCS is also accepting new or gently used linens such as blankets, comforters, and towels. If you have any of these items to spare, you can drop them off at Quevera Headquarters. Just make sure to schedule an appointment!

In case you missed it, in January, we supported the Casey Cares Foundation, and in February, we organized a Blood Drive in support of Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center. It’s been an incredible journey so far, and we’re excited to continue making a positive impact in our community together!
